Fort St. John International Literacy Day Workplace Challenge
To enter, send me a sentence or two about how you accomplished one of the ten Workplace Challenge activities.
For example, did you share knowledge with a colleague or signed up for a professional development course? Or, maybe you started reading a book during your lunch break. You just have to do one between September 8th and 30th to enter the contest!
1. Update your resume and/or write a cover letter.
2. Join a professional network site, like LinkedIn or join a social networking site like Twitter or Facebook.
3. If you’re looking for work, search local sites like Employment Connections, FSJ Now Classifieds and/or Macenna Staffing Services.
4. Ask a colleague to teach you something new.
5. Teach a colleague something new.
6. Take/sign up for a professional development course.
7. Start reading a book and/or do puzzles on your lunch break.
8. Read a professional journal or sign up for a subscription.
9. Learn to use a new machine or software program at work.
10.Write an email to a former co-worker you lost touch with.
